Build sheet for 32 ford 5 window “hi-boy” coupe body: original ford “real steel” rust free body chopped 3. 5” clear title reflects that car has been licensed in oklahoma since 1932. No registration problems. Original grill shell with stainless steel insert. One piece smooth floor from firewall to end of body. Vertical smooth fender wells for tire clearance. Original dash-original garnish rails. All modern glass with new manual window regulators. Trunk lid has 7 rows of louvers. Striped by “legend” ron myers. Body striping also by meyers. Engine turned smooth stainless steel firewall-set back for distributor clearance. Frenched power antenna. Frenched ‘39 “blue dot” tail lights. King bee headlights with “dazzlers” and quick disconnects to allow driving without headlight (cool) if desired. House of colors “brilliant yellow” paint with layered flames by mike “wet” willey-house of colors painter of the year multiple times. Custom aluminum gas tank in trunk. Bonneville style “push bar” at rear. No hood- no fenders. Interior: black leather tuck & roll. All pleats hand stuffed the old time way with cotton batting. No foam except for the areas outside the pleated panels- all french seamed. Adjustable glide bench seat. Trunk also upholstered the same way. Dash has a oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge and tachometer installed in a engine turned stainless steel dash insert. “hidden” sub-dash has a fuel gauge, voltage gauge and a stereo with remote cd 10 disc remote player. All gauges are stewart warner electric. Interior speakers (4) with additional sub woofer in trunk. Air vintique air conditioning system. Chrome mullins steering column with original “bell auto” midget 4 spoke steering wheel. Steering is solid with no slop. Hidden electrical kill switches. Horn, wiper, turn signal, and power antenna switches-all easily accessible. “gennie” floor shifter with mike willy “skull” shift knob. Trunk: has sunken compartment for headlights and tools, etc. Plenty of room for several suitcases. Small rear “hidden compartment” in trunk bulkhead behind seat for wallets, keys, cash, car registration/insurance documents, etc. Engine: gm 388 inch stroker short block built by kent johnson racing engines in tulsa, ok. Scat crank, eagle rods, keith black 8 to 1 blower pistons (to reduce the compression ratio from 12. 5 to 10. 5 to 1). Runs great on 91 octane. Dana barrows “hot street” hydraulic lifter cam-custom ground for this engine. Real “true-roller” double roller timing chain set. Modified gm bow tie race heads (12. 5 to 1) with guide plates, titanium keepers and retainers. Heads have been professionally gasket matched, ported and flowed. 1. 6 ratio (7/16” studs) roller rockers with stud girdles and chromoly push rods. Polished weiand street tunnel ram with two 500 cfm edelbrock carbs & k&n filters and polished hilborn blower scoop. Original early 60s cal custom polished valve covers. Edelbrock water pump. Mellings high volume oil pump. Accel “billet” distributor and coil. Taylor spark plug wire set. Sanderson performance (not block huger) headers with cut outs in exhaust. Exhaust is hpc coated inside and out. The engine was “desk top dynoed” at 475 hp & 475 lbs. Torque at 5,250 rpm. Estimated hp is 500+ above 5,500 rpm. Chassis: pete & jakes ‘32 chassis with chromed & drilled front axle, chromed hairpins and ladder bars. P&j hot rod shocks in front. Posies front spring. All front end suspension components are chromed. Mullins chrome vega steering box & flaming river components. Rear end is a polished currie aluminum 9” with 3:89 gears and detroit locker- drum brakes. P & j viper adjustable shocks. 350 trans with b&m “street/strip” shift pack and trans. Neil chance (wichita, ks) 2,500 stall converter (perfect). All stainless steel brake lines with braided lines at wheels. Valve and residual valves. An fittings from fuel tank to carbs. Adjustable fuel pressure gauge. So cal front polished & finned “scoop” backing plates with wildwood disc brakes. Original “moon” fuel tank in front of grill for radiator overflow-all stainless steel braided lines and an fittings. Walker cobra 5 row radiator with shroud and 16” electric fan. Wheels are original et iii wheels with holes filled. Front wheels are 5” wide, narrowed and “cleaned up” by eric vaughn. Rear wheels are 8” wide. All are carefully polished. This is a basically fresh car. It was professionally built in 1999 by “basic hot rods” of tulsa, ok. To date, the car has about 2,000 trouble free miles on it. The best part is that it is a great driver. This is a car that started out being a “nice driver” and ended up being an excellent “show car” for the street.
